A handmade ceramic mug and a wedge of Cadbury Fruit & Nut rest on a kraft paper bound notebook on top of a bed. The bed is covered in a quilted grey cotton bedspread. The mug is blue and off-white, with a wide bottom. It is patterned with a diagonal grid-type design meant to evoke a traditional Newfoundland knitwear motif. The mug is filled with milky tea, and light from a nearby window is reflected in the tea's surface. In the background are a second kraft-paper book and a cluster of Mildliner highlighter pens.

What a surprisingly productive week this turned out to be — much needed after the slump that was January. I sent my chapter draft to my supervisor, who seems pleased. I confirmed a date to present my research to an interdisciplinary research group, and wrote up the accompanying promotional material. I made a spreadsheet of conferences and journals to submit abstracts and papers to, sent out one abstract, sent out one paper, and started working on another paper. I picked away at my CV. I went for a walk in the woods.
