A slender branch leans into rushing river water. Three twigs on the branch touch the water’s surface, and at each point of contact a plate-like accumulation of ice has formed. The ice plates are around four to six inches in diameter, and have slightly petalled edges. They look like kind of like jellyfish.

Trying today to come up with a generous and nuanced way to talk about autistic joy in a presentation I’m preparing. How many jokes do I get to crack before my credibility is damaged? Only one way to find out, I guess.
