A cappuccino in a small, white, hand-thrown ceramic cup rests on a brown-covered Clairefontaine notebook. A fuchsia-coloured Pelikano fountain pen also rests on the notebook. The notebook rests on a chippy, brown, naturally distressed wooden chest that serves as a coffee table. The photo is taken from above.

Just back from my booster (yay!) after a fantastic — if exhausting — day yesterday. My big presentation went super well, and the folks on the call were lovely. Such a treat to be able to share my research and my thoughts with people who aren’t going to look at me like I’m talking to them from another planet. I am buoyed by their enthusiasm! I am comforted by their generosity! And I think I made it through the whole talk without using the word “epistemology” or the prefix “meta,” so I get an extra cookie for that. Trying now to get a conference abstract out the door and a journal article mostly written up so I can release it into the universe.
