Early evening sky over the Dominion parking lot. The sky is a medium blue at the top of the photo, fading to a watery, almost yellowy grey near the bottom. Most of the sky is streaked with high, thin white clouds, and there is a bank of low cumulus clouds closer to the horizon -- these are purplish and lit with coral-orange light from the setting sun. Streetlights and the tops of houses are visible along the very bottom edge of the photo.

Another weekend of poking and puttering. Many dishes washed, much laundry got through, some groceries bought and unpacked. When the kids were smaller, weekends were so hectic: dance and gymnastics classes, playdates, so many birthday parties (and, worst of all, birthday parties where one of us grown-ups would have to stay there, and, worst of the worst of all, swim), so many tasks to try and fit in before Monday. I can’t say I miss any of that, but I haven’t quite figured out what to do with weekends now, so I end up feeling quite adrift.

Also, our regular grocery store has once again rearranged everything, and now the dried beans are on the wrong side of the aisle, and all the items have disgruntled looks that suggest they were not consulted about this new layout.
